Week in Review

This week goes to the right. Nancy Pelosi, Miss California, Wanda Sykes, gay marriage and Dick Cheney owned the headlines. Did you notice none of this goes to help the economy or better the country?:

Have a good weekend everybody....

Man Bikes 180 Miles to Have Sex With a 15yr. Old

Talk about sick and desperate:

Associated Press

SCRANTON - A Maryland man who rode a bicycle 180 miles to northeastern Pennsylvania to have sex with a 15-year-old girl faces four years in prison.

A judge sentenced 26-year-old William Wagner, of Havre de Grace, Md., on Wednesday. Wagner pleaded guilty in February to unlawful contact with a minor.

Police said that Wagner rode a bicycle to Scranton last June to meet up with a 15-year-old girl he met on the Internet.

Investigators said that he slept at a baseball field while in Scranton and had sex with the girl several times there. After he left, the girl told her parents, who called police.

The girl told police that she at one time considered herself to be "in a relationship" with Wagner, and he knew she was only 15. *

I can only imagine how these parents felt after their daughter told them about this sick pervert. Being a father, I probably would have beat this guy within an inch of his life. If I know that dad, he'll be waiting for this guy when he gets out.

Right-Wing Political Groups Prepare for War Against Non-Existent Supreme Court Nominee

I guess the word "empathy" scared the right to death. As Ben Smith at Politico reports that right-wing groups met with several republican senators yesterday to put together attack preparations for President Obama's Supreme Court nominee:

Leaders of some of the social and judicial conservative groups planning an all-out fight over the Supreme Court nominee met with Republican Senators yesterday, a source says, passing on a couple of the items that came up in the meetings.

Centrally, it remains unclear how broadly the Republican leadership will commit to a fight, particularly on this first nominee, and so that's the question currently being arbitrated.

One of the conservatives talking points was money. Conservatives are telling the GOP that a court confrontation will be great fund raising, saying the NRSC raised some $200,000 at a breakfast yesterday with wealthy conservative donors, with the court issue dominating discussion, and that the key outside groups have raised some $1.2 million in advance of an expected fight in recent weeks, on top of money that other top conservative legal warriors have been raising toward this cause over the last few months.

The groups are also hoping to reverse what has generally been positive press for most of the mentioned possible nominees, and there were calls to "take off the gloves, " and talk of a video being released on a call with 60 conservative groups tomorrow.

One other tidbit from the meetings: Republicans could raise objections to Elena Kagan's nomination because of the possible delays in getting documents related to her service in the Clinton Administration from the Clinton Library.

As Kyle over at Right Wing Watch is saying this is funny seeing that right-wing groups like the Judicial Confirmation Network and the Committee for Justice (who were presumably involved in this meeting) are raising millions of dollars to prevent President Obama's nominee from getting confirmed, even though they were founded in order "to support the confirmation of highly qualified individuals to the Supreme Court of the United States." But only under President Bush, apparently.

These are the same groups that were there to see that president Bush's nominees were treated fairly are now making sure that Obama's nominee who ever it is shot down no matter how qualified.

Now Right-Wingers Are Having a Hard Time Reading

I read RedState.com on a daily basis. Like I have said before, my mind is open to all opinions and views from different political spectrum's. Well an article today that is titled "Obama Pays to Treat Alcoholism in Chinese Hookers", kind of caught me off guard today. If you read the post you would think the Obama administration sneaked in a 2.6 million dollar grant to study the drinking habits of Chinese prostitutes.

Of course after investing, just actually reading the source that RedState got their info from, it clearly states that the grant was issued as early as November. Actually the university that received the grant posted the story on November 5th, a full two months before he would take office.

RedState was not the only blog that also picked up the false accusation that RedState posted. All they had to do was read:

From CNSNews.com

"Dr. Xiaoming Li, the researcher conducting the program, is director of the Prevention Research Center at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit."

"The grant, made last November, refers to prostitutes as "female sex workers"--or FSW--and their handlers as "gatekeepers."

Next time gang try reading the article before you go out and point fingers at the wrong president....

Hat tip to Media Matters for exposing this lie.

Why Are Conservatives so Threaten By Gay Marriage?

Growing up originally in the catholic church, I was taught homosexual were immoral and disgusting people who would burn in hell for all eternity for their sins. That of course made me look at them as evil people who I wanted nothing to do with.

After leaving the church and becoming a more understanding Christian, I now realize although I may not agree with their lifestyle, I no longer feel threaten by them or look at them with disgust. I no longer judge them ( God will judge us all) and have no feeling that they somehow will invade on my way of life. Conservatives however.......are a whole different story:

The Daily Show Visits ASU (VIDEO)

Weeks ago there was a small controversy because ASU had chosen not to give president Barack Obama an honorary degree. Their reason was his body of work had yet to be determined. Pretty much like Kim Campbell who who received a honorary degree from ASU and was Canada's first female prime minister who was only in office 143 days total before being voted out.

The Daily Show decided to go to ASU to see what the student body thought about the controversy over the honorary degree.......

Can I Just Watch the F@#king News Please!!

As a person who thinks for himself, I watch and read a variety of news media. I sometimes watch Fox News, CNN, MSNBC and others everyday.

But what I am so tired of seeing is supposed news anchors giving their opinions on everything. It's one thing to have your own show like O'Reilly or Olbermann, but when you are reporting news, just report the damn news please. This is getting ridiculous.

Reporting is dead. Conservative and Liberal, everybody just does whatever they hell they want.

Yeah the press conference with Miss California today was a little too dramatic for a pageant ordeal. She got emotional and made a comparison to her grandfather fighting in World War II with her right to free speech, but let me be the one to criticize her. Let me be the one to call her a dizzy blonde or whatever...........Just report the freakin news please!!

This is what got the news anchors debating afterward
:

Watch David Schuster go off after Carrie Prejean's press conference today:

Former CIA Agent Calls Cheney a Hypocrite.

Former CIA Special Agent Jack Rice called former vice president Dick Cheney a hypocrite for now all of sudden demanding that all the "enhanced interrogation" procedures memos be released to show that terrorist attacks were prevented because of techniques like water-boarding were used.

That's pretty much been my take on the subject as well. If you had for say, one document like the one Cheney claims show that an attack on the L.A. library tower was prevented, why not release it during your term? It posed no national security threat. If the you were getting so many accusations thrown at the Bush administration for their treatment of enemy combatants, why not vindicate yourself and the American people by showing you saved lives to the world?

It would be damn near impossible for the democrats to try and investigate anything the Bush administration did after they proved that water-boarding worked.

Special Agent Rice:

“Look, you know what, I’d like to see all the memos, really …” said Rice. “I find it hypocritical from the vice president when he says, ‘I wanna see everything released.’ And he says this as soon as he’s not in a position to release them? If he really wanted to release these before, he could have. He could have gone down the process, and I’m sure nobody would have stood in the way. Instead, he waits until he’s out and says,‘Oh, well, I would have done it.’”

Miss California, Please be Honest From Now On

I was happy to hear that Miss California was able to keep her crown today. She, in my opinion was helped career wise by being put in the spotlight for her views on gay marriage. Yes she was absolutely wrongly attacked by that classless idiot Perez Hilton.

My stand on gay marriage is to not be against or for it, it's their choice and to each his own. It does not threaten my faith or my life.

I would like to however to give Miss Carrie Prejean a little advice. In order for you to get your point across and to continue to get support, please just be honest. After the first picture of her came out posing topless, I said okay no biggie. She then assured pageant officials that would be the only one. Then of course the second one came out similar to the first. That still did not bother me as much as the pictures that were released this morning.

It's a little hard to continue to tout your strong Christian beliefs when nude photos keep popping up along with rumors of a sexual tryst with Michael Phelps. Just be honest for here on in, because the media eye will always catch you sooner or later.

Remember being a Christian means you can't have it both ways.

White House Responds to Wanda Sykes "Joke"

With the conservative arena up in arms over the White House Correspondents dinner's guest comedian Wanda Sykes "jokes" about Rush Limbaugh, the Obama administration commented on the joke during the press briefing today:

Funny how Sykes' joke is uncalled for by conservatives, yet when CBS Sports golf analyst David Feherty jokes about Nancy Pelosi's getting shot twice and Harry Reid getting strangled, they laughed at it or blew it off as no biggie.

Right Pundits.com:

Of course what David Feherty said was really dumb. It was in poor taste and he shouldn’t have written that joke into his article, period. But good grief, are these days so dark and the left so unhinged that every insult toward the democrats requires a pound of flesh rather then a public apology? How many times did we hear incredibly outrageous things out of the mouth of commentators when President Bush was in office? It was an everyday occurrence!

Though I don’t condone what David Feherty said, I do defend HIM. He has been a long time friend of President Bush, a supporter of his administrations policies, and a witness to the chronic excoriation of the Bush administration by the left wing in this country that continues even to this day. It makes perfect sense that he would be mocking their feckless leaders, Pelosi and Reid.

White House To Declassify CIA Files Which Proves Cheney Worng Again?

It looks like the Obama administration is planning to declassify CIA documents from 2004 that seem once again to refute "Little" Dick Cheney's claims that enhanced interrogations prevent terrorist attacks.

This information is coming from a Washington Post story yesterday. It's basically buried in the piece, but specially says:

Government officials familiar with the CIA’s early interrogations say the most powerful evidence of apparent excesses is contained in the “top secret” May 7, 2004, inspector general report, based on more than 100 interviews, a review of the videotapes and 38,000 pages of documents. The full report remains closely held, although White House officials have told political allies that they intend to declassify it for public release when the debate quiets over last month’s release of the Justice Department’s interrogation memos…

Although some useful information was produced, the report concluded that “it is difficult to determine conclusively whether interrogations have provided information critical to interdicting specific imminent attacks,” according to the Justice Department’s declassified summary of it.

This would contradict former Vice President Dick Cheney's statement once again that the attack on the L.A. library tower was thwarted due to interrogations in 2003. This would make it very hard for Cheney to backtrack and try to mention another attack that was thwarted after being proven wrong with this report which does not mention the tower plot being stopped thanks to water-boarding.
